This brand new movie was released in the US on February 13th, and today it will be available on Netflix UK! I'll just try to give you a picture of what this film is about from the reviews I've read (without any spoilers), and from its official trailer. Besides I love Rebel Wilson, I've found the script pretty original and fun. The movie seems like it's been created to mock romantic comedies; so it's basically an anti-romcom. Besides the movie's impressive cast, it's said that its soundtrack is also remarkable.
The story begins with a young girl Natalie (Rebel Wilson) gets hypnotised while watching Pretty Woman. A minute later, the little girl's fantasy is shattered when her mum (Jennifer Saunders) explains "there are no happy endings for girls like us." When we flash forward 25 years to find that the little girl has grown up as an architect whose lack of confidence and self-esteem has caused her career to stall. Besides all this, Natalie is a skeptic when it comes to love, and offers up a brilliant rant on the misgivings and pain caused by Romcoms.
